In 1294, angels carried it again across the Adriatic Sea to the woods near Recanati; from these woods (Latin lauretum, Italian Colli del Lauri), or from the name of its proprietress (Laureta), the chapel derived the name which it still retains (sacellum gloriosæ Virginis in Laureto).
From 1857 he was the primo tenore in the choir of the Basilica della Santa Casa in Loreto, a post he held to the end of his life.
The local church, built on Ložno Hill north of the main settlement, is dedicated to the Virgin of Loreto and belongs to the Parish of Sveti Florijan ob Boču.
A miners' church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary of Loreto, stands above the settlement on the way to Vršič.
