Bective Abbey was used as a location during the shooting of the 1995 historical action-drama movie Braveheart.
Over the next decade, the couple had three daughters and moved to "abbey farm" which they purchased in County Meath which included the land around Bective Abbey.

The bridge of the title, Bective Bridge, lies not far from what was her home, Abbey Farm, near Bective Abbey, between Bective and Robinstown in Meath.
