Bugatti Type 57

In 2008 the Bugatti Type 57S with chassis number 57502 built in 1937 with the Atalante coachwork for Francis Curzon, 5th Earl Howe was discovered in a private garage in Newcastle upon Tyne, having been stored untouched for 48 years and known about only by a select few people.

The name Atalante was derived from a heroine of Greek mythology, Atalanta.

Chrysler Atlantic

The Atlantic was designed by Bob Hubbach and inspired by the Bugatti Atlantique.


Michael Kadoorie

He is the owner of a number of rare automobiles including a Bugatti Type 57, a 1932 Rolls-Royce Phantom II by Thrupp & Maberly, a 1934 Hispano-Suiza J12 Vanvooren Cabriolet, a 1969 Lamborghini Miura P400 S, a 1924 Vauxhall 30-98 Tourer and a Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.

Taso Mathieson

In 1938 Mathieson was back in racing, taking 3rd place at Chimay with a Bugatti Type 57S.
