This interchange was finally utilized in the present century, though only for local traffic as the A1 is being extended past Kelberg.
During sand exctraction from the Fuchsberg for the construction of the nearby Bundesautobahn 1 two Bronze Age tumuli were discovered in 1958.

The Alfsee, which is located southeast of Alfhausen a few hundred metres east of the B 68, can be accessed from this federal road and from the Neuenkirchen-Vörden junction of the A 1 motorway that passes it to the east.
To begin with it is one of the east-west links across the Elbe-Weser Triangle and runs in a gentle curve via Bremervörde (48 km, briefly with the B 74) and Zeven (71 km) over the Hansa Line A 1 (83 km) to the district town of Rotenburg (Wümme) (97 km).
Moselle Viaduct is also the name of the 1974 bridge where Bundesautobahn 1 between Wittlich and Trier crosses the river Moselle near Schweich.
