The motorway A7 crosses above the elevated railway tracks directly near the station.

It consists of two parts, one connecting the borough of Hannover-Buchholz to Burgdorf via Altwarmbüchen, the other connecting the Hanover fairground to the A 7.
The A 388 was supposed to be the first part of the A 38, branching off the A 7 in the North of Göttingen, however plans were carried out differently and the A 38 now meets with the A 7 near Friedland.
From Seesen on the northwestern edge of the Harz near the A 7 motorway it runs through the Upper Harz past Clausthal-Zellerfeld, the High Harz, where it is combined for several kilometres with the B 4, past Braunlage and then through the eastern Harz foothills into Mansfelder Land.
