It marked the beginning of his reigning years at the Teatro Colón where he portrayed four roles in 1964: the title role in the world premiere of Alberto Ginastera's Don Rodrigo, Gabriele Adorno in Verdi's Simon Boccanegra, Kalaf in Ferruccio Busoni's Turandot, and the title role in "Oedipus Rex" ((Stravinsky)).
He has recorded for HMV, Decca Oiseau Lyre, Lyrita Saga and CRD, and now records exclusively for Delphian Records of Edinburgh, who have already issued a recordings of music by Dallapiccola, Busoni, and Liszt, Schumann and Brahms.
Later, in the summer of 1912, after the unsuccessful premiere of his Wagnerian-length opera Die Brautwahl in mid-April and a concert tour through Italy in May, Busoni decided to stay home alone in Berlin to work, while his wife Gerda was in Switzerland on holiday.
The piece is based on several melodies and rhythms from various American Indian tribes; Busoni had received them from American ethnomusicologist Natalie Curtis Burlin.
She released the CD "Live Piano Solo" (2007) with works by Liszt, Bach–Busoni, Rachmaninov, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Silvestri and "Piano Recital" in 2009 (Ed. Casa Radio) with works by Scarlatti, Chopin, Schubert, Liszt, Schubert-Liszt, Skriabin, Rachmaninov, Bartók.
Besides, he won the first prize in several international piano competitions: Città di Treviso, La Spezia, RAI, and received awards in other prizes: Moncalieri (European Prize for Chamber Music), Busoni, Pretoria and Viotti.
In fact, it was Busoni's suggestion that Schoeck use Ludvig Holberg's Don Ranudo de Colibrados as the subject of an opera.
He shared with Benjamin Frith the 1986 Concorso Busoni's 2nd prize, with the first prize being declared void.
Her awards include the Busoni Prize of the Berlin Academy of the Arts, the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize for composition, the Paul Hindemith Prize of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, and the composition prize of the ARD.
He studied at the Conservatory in Helsinki from 1895 to 1899, then continued his piano studies in Berlin with Ansorge, Berger and Busoni.
