The Iceland Symphony Orchestra has premiered and recorded four of Thorvaldsdottir's orchestra pieces, conducted by Ilan Volkov, Christian Lindberg, Rumon Gamba, Daníel Bjarnason, and Bernhardur Wilkinson.
Thus, the piece is limited to the best trombonists, although there have been numerous recordings of the piece by such famed players as Joseph Alessi and Christian Lindberg.
In 2006, Vernon and the CSO premiered "Chick 'a' Bone Checkout" a new concerto for alto, tenor and bass trombone and orchestra, written by trombonist and composer Christian Lindberg.
In 2001-2002 his engagements included Orchestre National de Belgique, RAI National Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony (with whom he made a successful recording with trombonist Christian Lindberg) and performances at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.
