In Vác (Waitzen) he erected the cathedral and episcopal palace and founded the "Collegium pauperum nobilium" and the convent.

In 1761 Maria Theresa made him administrator for life of the Bishopric of Vác, and at the same time obtained the cardinal's purple for him from Clement XIII.
