The railway's trackwork consists of flat-bottomed rail mounted using pandrol clips onto Costain concrete sleepers (wooden sleepers are used for pointwork).
Following the flotation, Costain moved into civil engineering and worked first on the Trans-Iranian Railway and then at Abadan, Iran for BP.
The resort was developed pursuant to a joint venture agreement between Costain Group PLC (a British company) and Banesto.
