4 unusual facts about Cyrus Engerer

Cyrus Engerer

His highest involvement came in 2009 when he successfully contested the Tas-Sliema Local Council elections, placing third among ten candidates.

In a highly polarised society, Cyrus Engerer was raised in a politically mixed environment with his father being a traditional Nationalist supporter from Tas-Sliema, while his mother from Valletta was an activist in Partit Laburista, with her family being ardent Mintoff supporters.

Notwithstanding the religious pressure that was exerted by the Catholic Church on the Maltese population which has a huge Catholic majority, the outcome was still a successful one for the Yes campaign winning 52.67% of votes.

Evarist Bartolo

In August 2013, Bartolo nominated Cyrus Engerer within the Labour Party for the 2014 European Parliament elections.
