Born in Dinant, Belgium, Zeebroek started out as a swimmer at the very young age.
On 13 August 1905 at age 26 he participated in the Coupe de Liedekerke et Williame race held near Dinant, Belgium.
For squadrons participating in bombing operations against crossings of the Meuse during the German breakthrough between Sedan and Dinant, 12–14 May 1940.
During World War I he received a commendation for bravery for his actions at the Battle of Dinant.
