The House of Clergy consists of clergy representatives chosen by the clergy in each Deanery Synod, together with a number of ex officio members -- any other assistant bishops working in the diocese; the dean of the cathedral; the archdeacons of the diocese; the clergy elected to the General Synod for the diocese (known as Proctors to the Lower House of Convocation), and some others.

In 1724 he was named by pope Benedict XIII Bishop of Arezzo where a diocesan synod was celebrated in 1730 under his leadership.
In conformity with the decrees of the Council of Trent, Domenico Bollani (1559) convened a diocesan synod (1574) and founded the seminary.
He called a diocesan synod in 1547 at Wiślica but the resolution of the Synod has not been preserved.
The name is a corruption of the term "synod's man", a title referring to prominent members of the congregation who represented the parish to the Diocesan Synod.
Other achievements of Thomas II include the consecration of the high altar of the cathedral, attendance at the First Council of Lyon (1274), holding a diocesan synod in 1279 and the establishment of the St. Thomas Collegiate Church in Racibórz.
