Don Heck, comic-book artist, co-creator of Iron Man (born New York City, lived in Centereach as adult)
First appearing in Tales of Suspense #42 (June, 1963), the Red Barbarian was created by Stan Lee, Robert Bernstein and Don Heck.
The artwork included at least two stories each by Dave Berg, Vic Carrabotta, Gene Colan, and Don Heck, and one story each from Reed Crandall, Russ Heath.
Created by writer Larry Lieber and artists Jack Kirby and Don Heck, he first appeared in Tales of Suspense #39 (March 1963), as the first villain that Iron Man faced.
