Ball has performed with many other jazz and contemporary musicians including Paul Grabowsky, Mike Nock, Tony Gould, Graeme Lyall, Don Burrows, Jamie Cullum and John Butler; and with groups The Hoodangers, the Andrea Keller Quartet, the Allan Browne Quintet, the Australian Art Orchestra, the Bennetts Lane Big Band and the Ball/Magnusson/Talia trio.
In 1959, he commenced a long-term working musical partnership with clarinetist/flautist/saxophonist Don Burrows that continued for almost forty years.
Sangster worked with virtually every big name in Australian jazz during his career, a list of musicians that includes Graeme Bell, Humphrey Lyttelton and Don Burrows, among others.
After extensive touring in New Zealand he moved to Sydney, Australia where he played with many top jazz musicians including Don Burrows.

He has contributed to albums by many famous artists such as Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Jimmy Barnes, Tommy Emmanuel, Wallace Buchanan (Jamiroquai), Yothu Yindi, Alison Brown and Don Burrows, and filmed a documentary about Cape York with Jacques Cousteau.
