Donna the Buffalo has performed and/or recorded with a variety of musicians, including such prominent folk/roots performers as Jim Lauderdale, father and son Zydeco masters Preston and Keith Frank, Bela Fleck, Mamadou Diabate, Claire Lynch, David Hidalgo, The Duhks and Amy Helm, to name a few.

Held from August 21–23 in 2009 as a free event, headliners of the festival included the Derek Trucks Band, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Donna the Buffalo, Ruthie Foster, Seven Nations and Bill Kirchen.
Past headliners include Robert Randolph,Yonder Mountain String Band, Donna the Buffalo, Nickel Creek, Keith Frank, Patty Loveless and Toubab Krewe.
They have been featured at some of the Mid-West’s largest music festivals including Rothbury Music Festival and 10,000 Lakes and have shared the stage with Railroad Earth, Steve Kimmock, Cornmeal, Toubab Krewe, Hot Buttered Rum, Donna The Buffalo, Big Leg Emma, Jeff Daniels, Tea Leaf Green, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Mamadou Diabate, The Duhks, Wookiefoot, ekoostik hookah, and many more.
Since 1991, the Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance has taken place each July at the village fairgrounds and is hosted by nationally popular Trumansburg-based band Donna the Buffalo.
