Andrey Lugovoy

Traces of polonium-210 have been discovered in all three hotels where Lugovoy stayed after flying to London on October 16, in the Pescatori restaurant in Dover Street, Mayfair, where Lugovoy is understood to have dined before November 1, and aboard two aircraft on which he had travelled.

Conservative Club

At first, the club met in the Lansdowne Hotel in Dover Street, before taking up rooms in the Royal Hotel at 88 St. James's Street, until the clubhouse's 1845 completion.

Dover Street

Oliver Wendell Holmes in Our Hundred Days in Europe records staying at Mackellar's Hotel, 17 Dover Street, where "we found ourselves comfortably lodged and well cared for during the whole time we were in London".

In the 1920s many notable photographers were based in Dover Street including Paul Tanqueray, Hugh Cecil and Alexander Bassano.

Other guests have included Napoleon III, Theodore Roosevelt (at the time of his marriage), Rudyard Kipling and Agatha Christie (her book At Bertram's Hotel is based on Brown's).

Upon his death in Dover Street (off Piccadilly) in 1802, his titles became extinct as his only son, John, Lord Montagu had died in 1787.
