Downside, New South Wales

Downside is a farming community in the central east part of the Riverina and situated about 15 kilometres north west from Wagga Wagga and 24 kilometres south east from Coolamon.


1990–91 Tottenham Hotspur F.C. season

The only downside of the FA Cup triumph was an injury to star midfielder Paul Gascoigne, who ruptured his cruciate ligaments in a tackle on Forest fullback Gary Charles early in the first half.

1993–94 Swindon Town F.C. season

The only downside to this superb triumph was the departure of player-manager Glenn Hoddle to Chelsea.

Bernard Ullathorne

In February 1823, aged 16, he was sent to Downside, near Bath, where he was mentored by John Bede Polding, afterwards the first Archbishop of Sydney, who influenced him greatly.

Hugh Watts

Watts taught history and cricket at Downside until in 1963 when he founded the Moor Park preparatory school near Ludlow in Shropshire.
