He made his NHL debut during the 2013–14 NHL season, becoming the first former Saint to play in the NHL since its return as a franchise, as it was disbanded in 2001 following a 21-year run.

Dubuque opened a new Ice Arena, the Mystique Ice Center, which opened in Fall of 2010, and now hosts the expansion Dubuque Fighting Saints.
