Clive Rice

Rice was able to make his debut in official international cricket in 1991, when, aged 42, he played in—and captained—South Africa's first One Day International, in a match against India at Eden Gardens, Calcutta.


1997 Pepsi Independence Cup

Along with a television documentary on the history of Indian cricket broadcast on Doordarshan, India's Test cricket captains were honoured during the 2nd final at the Eden Gardens in Calcutta (now Kolkata) – from the then 86-year old Lala Amarnath to the then-captain, 24-year old Sachin Tendulkar.

Anjum Chopra

She made her debut in One-day Internationals on 12 February 1995 against New Zealand at Christchurch, New Zealand, and made her debut in Test cricket a few months later, against England at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 17 November 1995.

Gil Langley

Langley played his last Test match against India at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in November 1956 and retired from first class cricket a month later after scoring a century for South Australia against New South Wales at the Adelaide Oval.
