The principal result of the mission was the Wittenberg articles of 1536, which had no slight influence on the English Ten Articles of the same year.

In 1528 he was sent with Bishop Stephen Gardiner to Rome to obtain from Pope Clement VII a decretal commission for the trial and decision of the case between King Henry VIII of England and his first wife, Catherine of Aragon.


Collectanea satis copiosa

The Collectanea satis copiosa (Latin: ‘The Sufficiently Abundant Collections’) of 1530 was a collection of historical documents compiled by Thomas Cranmer and Edward Foxe designed to prove that Kings of England, historically, had no superiors on Earth (including the Pope).

Submission of the Clergy

On the 10th May Edward Foxe, the Bishop of Hereford, presented the Convocation with a schedule of three articles which King Henry VIII had sent to the Convocation for ratification.
