In 2011, Edwards directed and co-wrote Animal Charm,starring Boy George, Michael Urie, Sally Phillips, Sadie Frost and Emily Beecham.
In mid-2007, she was chosen by director Jan Dunn for the leading ingenue role in her independently-produced feature, The Calling.

In the latter part of the year, Beecham gave her first professional stage performance in Ian McHugh's debut play, How to Curse, directed at the Bush Theatre in West London's Shepherd's Bush by the theatre's artistic director Josie Rourke.
