In 2005 he recorded a collaborational album called Ceasefire with Sudanese rapper, former child soldier and Christian convert Emmanuel Jal.

Emma McCune

Emma also saved more than 150 war children in Sudan including hiphop artist Emmanuel Jal and is the title subject of his song "Emma McCune" on his 2008 album Warchild.

Jeremy Penn

In 2011 Penn's portrait of Emmanuel Jal entitled War Child was the winner of the Peace Maker Award at The Peace Project art exhibition.

Also of note was a cover of Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by War Child patrons Keane, a song from Gorillaz called "Hong Kong" which was chosen to be played live various times by the band, a last-minute contribution from Coldplay, and a song by Emmanuel Jal, who was involved in the Sudan conflict as a child.
