Until the building has been finished, the Academy is accommodated in the former Estonian Knighthood House in Toompea.
He also worked as a docent at the State Art Institute of the ESSR from 1961 to 1992, and since 1977 as a professor.

Pärn had taught animation at the Arts Academy of the Turku University of Applied Sciences in Turku, Finland since 1994 and now he is teaching at Estonian Academy of Arts.
Since 2001, he has been giving lectures in various Estonian universities (Tartu Art Collage, Estonian Academy of Arts, Tallinn University Baltic Film and Media School, University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy).
