Evan Dando, founder and frontman of the popular alternative rock band The Lemonheads, is an Essex native.
The resulting record, The Inner Flame: Rainer Ptacek Tribute, featured Ptacek-penned songs performed by Gelb (with Giant Sand), Plant, Jimmy Page, Emmylou Harris, Evan Dando, Victoria Williams, Vic Chesnutt, PJ Harvey, The Drovers, Madeleine Peyroux, Kris McKay, Jonathan Richman and Bill Janovitz.
In the tradition of the debut it started with the Neil Young Song Mr. Soul and went on with a guest appearance of Evan Dando of the Lemonheads as singer of Paint it sweet.

As If to Nothing is the second independent album by Scottish composer Craig Armstrong, featuring collaborations with Bono of U2, Mogwai, Photek, Evan Dando, King Crimson, and former Big Dish vocalist Steven Lindsay.
He has since worked with a number of musicians including The Apples in Stereo, Luna, Swans, Evan Dando, Sean Lennon, Sebadoh, Heave, Come, Spacehog, Ramones, The Morning Glories, Band of Susans, Danish band Grand Avenue, Phish, The 45's, Akron Family, Dylan Connor, The Spring Standards, and cabaret pop group Antony and the Johnsons.
A decade later they released a long-awaited self-titled follow-up, while in the meantime the group's frontman and sole remaining original member, Evan Dando, issued his first official solo album, 2003's Baby I'm Bored (a live album and EP were released in Australia two years earlier).
The album showcases their early punk roots, and is one of only three albums to feature the full original lineup of Evan Dando, Ben Deily, and Jesse Peretz.
Paxton has spent some hearty time on the road touring and playing with the likes of Evan Dando, Jason Collett (Broken Social Scene), Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Chad VanGaalen and many more.
The programme was recorded in the Cottier Theatre, a converted church in Glasgow's west-end, and artists who featured included 'local' Scottish bands such as Teenage Fanclub and the BMX Bandits, to those from further afield such as Evan Dando of the Lemonheads and Pulp.
