Homologated for the 2007 season, the Mustang FR500GT is designed to compete in the FIA GT3 European Championship series.
In 2012, due to homologation rules, Gemballa built two versions of McLaren MP4-12C, including one road-going model and one GT3 race version (under Gemballa Racing division label) destined for FIA GT3 European Championship.
Marc VDS also added a fourth program to 2010 by co-developing a Ford Mustang with Multimatic Motorsports of Canada for use in the FIA GT3 European Championship.
For the GT3 racecar, the engine produces less power at only 493 hp.
