Abdul Salam Azimi (Farsi:عبدالسلام عظیمی (born: 1936, in Farah Province) is the Chief Justice of Afghanistan and, as such, the head of the Afghan Supreme Court since May 2006.
The hospital has major significance as the regional hospital of Farah Province.
A 1995 Oxfam report lists Farah as "severely mined", and indicated that Farah was particularly problematic due to the wide variety of mine devices employed there, as well as usage of mines to deny access to irrigation systems.
In 2009, Genn embedded himself with the 3rd Battalion 8th Marines at Forward Operating Base Gulistan in Farah Province, central Afghanistan, where he drew sketches of that unit's actions in the Global War on Terror.

A new highway called Route 606 was built between Zaranj and Delaram in Farah province by the Indian Government's Border Roads Organization at a cost of about US $136 million to open up a link between the deep sea port at Chabahar in Iran to Afghanistan's main ring road highway system which connects Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, Mazar-i-Sharif and Kunduz.
