In 1792 Albert married Eleanore, Baroness de Franquemont, (1771-1833) an illegitimate daughter of the reigning Duke of Württemberg by the Italian adventuress Anne Franchi.
Carl Rudolf (Neuenstadt am Kocher, 29 May 1667 – Neuenstadt am Kocher, 17 November 1742) was third and last Duke of Württemberg-Neuenstadt, army commander in Danish service and Field Marshal of the Holy Roman Empire.
Ferdinand Willem, Duke of Wurttemberg-Neuenstadt (September 12, 1659, Neuenstadt am Kocher – June 7, 1701, Sluis) was a general in the Dutch army.
It was not until the Treaty of Ryswick in 1697 that reconstruction work started again and Frederick Augustus brought in 220 Waldensians and Huguenots which he settled in a specially planned town coined “Augustistadt” (Augustus town) to the north of Gochsheim.
In the 17th and 18th century the Württemberg-Neuenstadt branch line of the ducal house of Württemberg took up residence in Neuenstadt castle until the male lineage of dukes died out in 1742.
At Wachau, during the Battle of Leipzig, his corps along with François Étienne de Kellermann's IV Cavalry Corps and the dragoons of the Guard charged the center of Duke of Württemberg.
