There are three examples of surviving Fairlie 0-4-4-0 locomotives on the Ffestiniog Railway the last of which was built in 1992.

Billerica and Bedford Railroad

George E. Mansfield, of Hazelhurst, Massachusetts, became an early promoter of the two foot gauge after seeing the Ffestiniog Railway in operation in Wales.

Bob Symes

In January 2007 he married Dr. Sheila Gunn (now Dr. Sheila, Baroness Symes Schutzmann von Schutzmansdorff), then Works Manager at Boston Lodge, on the Ffestiniog Railway.
