His book, Our Violent Society, came out in 1970, a Funk & Wagnalls' publication.
He worked in the publishing business in New York City, eventually becoming a sales manager for Funk & Wagnalls.
In 1959, Funk & Wagnalls published his memoirs, titled Third Man In The Ring, as told to sports writer Frank Graham.
