Hallsands

On 15 November 2010, Damon Albarn revealed on the Radio 4 'TODAY' Show that Hallsands is the beach which inspired him and Jamie Hewlett to produce the Gorillaz Plastic Beach LP.

The Boy in the Oak

The film score is composed by Jessica Albarn's brother Damon Albarn, who is known as the singer for Blur and frontman and songwriter for the Gorillaz.


Brit Insurance Design Awards

In 2006, a humanitarian architect, Cameron Sinclair, whose work aided many disaster-ravaged communities across the world, was competing against a graphic designer, Jamie Hewlett, for his work on the popular Gorillaz virtual band.

Hannah Peel

Whilst on tour promoting 'The Broken Wave' by supporting another Full Time hobby act Erland and the Carnival, Peel became good friends with the band and a collaboration between herself, Gawain Erland Cooper and Simon Tong (The Verve, Blur, Gorillaz, The Good, the Bad & the Queen) resulted in a new band The Magnetic North.

Also of note was a cover of Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by War Child patrons Keane, a song from Gorillaz called "Hong Kong" which was chosen to be played live various times by the band, a last-minute contribution from Coldplay, and a song by Emmanuel Jal, who was involved in the Sudan conflict as a child.

The band is currently recording the follow up to "Buy Yourself Some Freedom", which will be a new single produced and engineered at Trilogy Studios in San Francisco by famed producer Dan the Automator (Gorillaz, DJ Shadow, Lovage, Kasabian), set to be released in April 2012.

He also was involved with the Gorillaz Demon Days: Live at the Manchester Opera House on November 1–5, 2005, as a PA for the puppets of Murdoc and 2D when they came out in the beginning of the show.
