It intersects with Hampstead Road/Ascot Avenue in Vale Park, and also with the Grand Junction Road in Valley View.
Main North Road joins from the south and continues on to the north-east, towards Parafield, Elizabeth and Gawler, while Port Wakefield Road begins at this location, travelling due north to the northern Adelaide Plains and 90 kilometres to the town of Port Wakefield.

From Anzac Hwy, South Road continues north as a western bypass of the city across many arterials, the major ones being Port Road, Regency Road and Grand Junction Road, to the junctions with the Port River Expressway and the Salisbury Highway.
Just up the road from The Bremen hotel, on the northern side of Grand Junction Road is Torrens Valley Christian School, a local private non-denominational Christian school.
The first meeting of the club was held in the same year on a course located on Grand Junction Road and in 1895 transferred to a leased site at Cheltenham Park.
