Pegeen Vail Guggenheim, daughter of the famous art collector Peggy Guggenheim and the writer Laurence Vail, was an American painter, born in Ouchy, in Switzerland, on August 18, 1925, and deceased in Paris, on March 1, 1967.
He has been a Fellow in Composition and Conducting at the Tanglewood Music Center (1970), a Guggenheim Fellow (1974–1975), and a resident fellow at the MacDowell Colony.
In the course of his lifetime, he received many honors, including fellowships from the Fulbright Program and the Guggenheim, a grant from the Carnegie Corporation, as well as being named a Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study, and was accepted into both the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin.
