They joined the Ipswich & District League (now the Suffolk & Ipswich League), winning the title in 1943–44, 1945–46 (shared with HMS Ganges) and 1948–49.
She was reassigned to harbour service in 1897 and then became a training ship and was renamed HMS Ganges in 1908.

Amongst others he served HMS Cyclops, HMS Iron Duke, HMS Effingham, HMS Ganges, HMS Royal Sovereign and HMS Revenge before becoming the head of the service in 1948.
From March 1934 to February 1936 Enright was Executive Officer at the naval training school HMS Ganges, then from May 1936 to July 1937 was Naval Officer-in-Charge at Aden, receiving promotion to captain on 30 June 1937.
