After her studies of romance languages, literature and social sciences in the University of Trier, in Münster and Paris she visited the Henri Nannen Schule (a school named to Henri Nannen).

Having attended the Hamburg school of journalism Henri-Nannen-Schule from 1987 to 1988, Sebastian Borger started his career in journalism in 1989 as a crime reporter for Abendzeitung in Munich.
In 2000, 2001 and 2004 he won the „Egon-Erwin-Kisch-Preis“ for the „Best Reportage of the Year“. In 2005, he and a team of colleagues were awarded a “Henri-Nannen-Preis” for their investigation about the terrorist attack on a school in Beslan, Russia.
