Humayun entered Bengal and proceeded to Gour, Hindal Mirza, instead of remaining to keep the rebels in check, and maintain the communications with grand army, taking advantage of the season, abandoned his post and set out for Agra, without leave.

By such remonstrances, he prevailed upon Hindal to leave the city to cross over the Jamna into the Doab, and there collect whatever forces could be brought together, to march and raise the siege of Juanpur.

Salima was therefore a first cousin to Emperor Akbar and to his first wife Ruqaiya Sultan Begum, as both of them were the children of her maternal uncles: Humayun and Hindal Mirza, respectively.
