When President Harrison visited Seattle in 1891, he was taken around the lake on the sidewheeler Kirkland, with the Calkins (and other ships) travelling as escorts, with the steam calliope on Calkins playing Home Sweet Home.

Subjects to be embroidered were influenced by Victorian Romanticism and included floral designs, Victorian paintings, biblical or allegorical motifs, and quotations such as "Home Sweet Home" or "Faith, Hope, Love".
The only videos without original compositions are the two music videos, Home Sweet Home by Norwegian Rapper Sirius, and Sogno ad Occhi Aperti by Italian Cellist Giovanni Sollima.
A cover version – which uses a less deep tuning, closes with a lengthy solo based on the A Little South of Sanity live version and the "home... sweet... home" verse repeats at the end instead of the fade-out featured on the original recording – appears in Guitar Hero II.
