Fartown, Huddersfield

Huddersfield's Rugby League team now known as the Huddersfield Giants played at the St. John's Ground as did the Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

Galpharm International

From August 2004 until July 2012, the Huddersfield Town football stadium also home to the Huddersfield Giants Rugby League club (opened in 1994 as the Alfred McAlpine Stadium) has been known as the Galpharm Stadium as part of a sponsorship deal.

The company also runs coach journeys for the town's football and rugby league teams.


Bon Spence

He was a teacher at Oakes Elementary school in Huddersfield in the late 1940s and early 1950s at the same time as was Pat Devery the Australian Huddersfield rugby league international.

Danny Brough

On 24 March 2010 Brough moved to Huddersfield Giants, and was named club captain during 2012 following the mid-season departure of Kevin Brown.

Fred Longstaff

He was a member of Huddersfield's 1914/15 'Team of All Talents' by winning All Four Cups available to them, and died on 22 July 1916, fighting at the Battle of the Somme.

Scott Donald

Scott joined the Rhinos from Australian team Manly at the back end of 2005 as a replacement for outgoing winger Mark Calderwood and made a scoring debut for the Rhinos against Huddersfield Giants on 11 February 2006.
