After a lackluster 2005, in 2006 he returned in the Dauphiné Libéré with 2nd place in Briançon and a win on the stage to La Toussuire.
He won the Mont Ventoux stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré in 1999 and 2001, and held the record for the fastest ascent until it was broken by Iban Mayo in 2004.

The team, one of eighteen elite teams making up the UCI ProTour, is a regular participant in the annual Tour de France and Vuelta a España, and has helped launch the careers of many top Basque riders such as Iban Mayo and Haimar Zubeldia.
