He founded the nationalist Istiqlal party which was a driving force in the Moroccan struggle for independence from French colonial rule.

He has been awarded with İstiqlal (Sovereignty) order, Honorary Diploma of Azerbaijani President award of Azerbaijan, Содружество order of CIS and Order of Friendship of Russia, Gold Medal from WOSCO (World Organization for Scientific Cooperation).
