3 unusual facts about Johannes Möller

Johannes Möller

Johannes' paternal grandfather was a doctor of medicine, whereas his uncle Hans Eleonardus was a ship-owner.

Johannes' inclination towards the humanities stemmed from his father, who had befriended the likes of Henrik Steffens, Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph Schelling and Friedrich Leopold zu Stolberg-Stolberg and also converted to Catholicism.

Matthias Knutzen

The author Johannes Moller wrote in his biography of North German writers, Cimbria Literata (printed in 1744), that Knutzen had died in an Italian monastery, but that was probably only an invention made up to discredit both Knutzen and the Roman Catholic church.
