Josh White (1914-1969), American musician and civil rights activist
As a young musician he worked with Big Bill Broonzy, Josh White, and Cisco Houston; Houston became La Farge's mentor, in songwriting and in life.
He accompanied several visiting musicians on their visits to Sweden, including Josh White, Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon, Clark Terry, Johnny Griffin, Benny Bailey, Gábor Szabó and Dick Morrissey, as well as playing regularly with other leading Swedish jazz musicians, such as Jan Johansson, Rolf Ericson, Jan Allan, and Arne Domnérus.
Following their live broadcast on FM radio the group are set to release their new album "Thames Delat Blues Vol.1" which covers modern blues through to a version of " I wanna die easy" previously performed by Josh White.

Ari Eisinger is a guitarist and singer from Pennsylvania, most noted as a proponent of Piedmont blues guitar from the 1920s-1930s, and as a significant authority on the music of the Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Blake, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Boy Fuller, and Josh White amongst others.
When he was young he attended live performances of Otis Spann, Professor Longhair, Meade Lux Lewis, Pete Seeger, Joshua Rifkin and Josh White, among others.
Among the other (racially integrated) performers were American concert artists Marian Anderson, Lawrence Tibbett, and Kate Smith, singing classical and light popular music; and folk performers Lily May Ledford and the Coon Creek Girls; Josh White; the Golden Gate Quartet; Sam Queen and the Soco Gap Square Dance Team, who demonstrated clog dancing; and Alan Lomax, singing cowboy songs.
In 1956, and as a soloist he was produced by Dean Gitter (alias 'Dean Laurence') and with guitar accompaniment by Josh White, recorded an album for the British record label Esquire.
