One of the artists attached to the expedition having suddenly died, Léon Matthieu Cochereau, Linant was commissioned to replace him, drawing sites and ruins in Athens, Constantinople, Ephesus, Akka and Jerusalem for the first French panorama painter Pierre Prévost.
