He lives in Paris with his wife Sumana Sinha; she published her first novel in French Fenêtre sur l'abîme.
In the 1970s he made, with Jacques Roubaud, Lionel Ray, and Pierre Lartigue, exercises on the world Oulipo: The Inimaginaires.
With her ex-husband, the writer Lionel Ray, she has published several poetry anthologies : French and Bengali.
