Mainline Steam

Mainline Steam is a New Zealand organisation devoted to the restoration and operation of historic New Zealand Railways mainline steam locomotives.

The organisation regularly operates excursions out of Auckland and Christchurch, the latter operating excursions primarily along the highly scenic Midland Line.

New Zealand EW class locomotive

The EW was not sold until August 2005 when it was purchased by Ian Welch of the Mainline Steam Trust.

Woodville Railway Station, New Zealand

Woodville is occasionally either a waypoint or a destination for excursion passenger trains operated by local rail heritage organisations such as Mainline Steam and Steam Incorporated.
