The service was presided over by Rev. Mario Conti, Father Michael Spencer and his later biographer Ron Ferguson.
He made his solemn monastic profession in 1979 and was ordained priest on the Feast of SS Peter and Paul, 29 June 1982 by Mario Conti.

Robson's appointment was announced on 8 May 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI and he received episcopal consecration on 9 June 2012, the Feast of St Columba, from Keith Patrick Cardinal O'Brien with Archbishops Antonio Mennini and Mario Conti serving as co-consecrators.
On the same day, the Holy See announced the appointment of Bishop Philip Tartaglia of Paisley as Archbishop of Glasgow to succeed Archbishop Mario Conti; he took possession of the diocese on 8 September 2012, the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
