Knight was born in Richmond, California, and attended Eastern Washington University from 1992 to 1993 on a basketball scholarship, but dropped out to pursue a career in rap music in the Bay Area with Master P's West Coast Bad Boy Clique.
Two charting singles were released from the album, "Just Be Straight with Me" (featuring Master P and Destiny's Child), and "It Ain't My Fault" (featuring Mystikal).
D-Cru band member Craig Smart later contributed back-up vocals on two tracks for Master P's album Game Face.
