When the business was sold in 1978 the fleet consisted of 55 buses, mainly AECs and Leylands operating on nine routes.

She married Mac McVicar, and in 1987 they established a herb farm - now known as Jekka's Herb Farm - at Alveston near Bristol.
In 2002, McVicar published a book about the Jill Dando murder, Dead on Time, in which he paints the convicted killer Barry George as a sophisticated liar, trying to appear too stupid to carry out a difficult mission.

He wrote his autobiography, McVicar by Himself, and scripted the 1980 biographical film McVicar, which starred The Who's lead singer Roger Daltrey in the title role and also co-stars Adam Faith.
He married Helen McVicar, veterinarian (born 1925 in Manly, NSW) in 1946 and they had five children, Deborah, Maggie Ferguson, Kate, John and Angus.
McVicar will receive a Bachelor's degree in Design at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and a minor in Illustration, completed at Rhode Island School of Design 2013.
