As a children's book illustrator, Granström often collaborates with her associate and partner, Mick Manning.

Mick Manning

Born in 1959 and brought up in Haworth, near Keighey, Yorkshire, England, Manning studied Graphic Design at The University of Northumbria and then Illustration at The Royal College of Art where his tutors included John Norris Wood, Quentin Blake and Sheila Robinson.

Mick Manning is best known for his 20-year collaboration as an author and co-illustrator with his partner the illustrator Brita Granström.

In 1990 he devised and ran the BA honours Illustration option at the Glasgow School of Art as Course Leader.


Seven Stories

Many children's authors and illustrators visit the centre to run workshops and give talks, including David Almond, Catherine Rayner, Michael Foreman, Terry Deary, Judith Kerr, Julia Donaldson, Mick Manning, Brita Granström and Oliver Jeffers.
