From 7 September 2012, 8-car 10000 series sets were introduced on Tōkyū Tōyoko Line and Minatomirai Line services, several months before the planned start of through-running operations.

The museum is located on the second floor of the Yokohama Mitsui Building in Nishi-ku, Yokohama, and is a two-minute walk from Shin-Takashima Station on the Minatomirai Line, and a five-minute walk from Yokohama Station.
The latter line runs south toward Shinjuku and Shibuya along Meiji-dori, and offers through services to Motomachi-Chūkagai Station in Yokohama via the Tōkyū Tōyoko Line and Minatomirai Line.

From 16 March 2013, the Tōkyū Tōyoko Line moved to share the line's Shibuya terminus, enabling through services on the Minatomirai Line to Motomachi-Chūkagai Station in Yokohama.
