In 1980 he worked with N. John Habraken in The Grunsfeld Variations, a research project dealing with the thematic design of urban tissues.
Envisioning a solution for these problems, he asked Dutch architect N. John Habraken to design what he called "a brick that holds beer."
In 1960, Habraken designed the WOBO (World Bottle) for Alfred Heineken.
